This day trip is an exploration by kayak and native outrigger banca boat of the entire northwest coast of Coron Island, the direction of travel dependent upon the prevailing wind. (In general, from June to September we will head from west to east and from October to May from east to west.) It is very much NOT a bucket list trip.

You’ll discover what regular tourists on group trips miss: private aqua-blue lagoons, a cave or two, wildlife like sea eagles, kingfishers, monkeys, monitor lizards & sea turtles. In short, serenity!

With the convenience of riding a motorised outrigger banca with personal sea kayaks atop, we effort to give the tourist traps a wide berth, to allow you to better fall in love with the serenity, beauty and majesty of Coron Island the Tribal way–by paddling.

In so doing, you will glide in to the nooks and crannies of an environment that is in National Geographic’s Top Ten list of places to visit on the planet.

And, yes, later when you thought you already had a vista overload, you may see Kayangan Lake and gaze down at the extraordinarily picturesque view of the lagoon below–arguably Philippine tourism’s most photographed natural scene. But if the sea of humanity is too great in Kayangan Lake we will opt for Barracuda Lake, a thermal, meaning if you can free dive 17 metres you’ll get yourself into hot water! However, if there’s over-tourism in both locations we’ll stay well away, and veer to exploring only the quiet and hidden spots like secret lagoons accessible only to sea kayaks. The same principle of not contributing to over-tourism applies to Twin Lagoon, Skeleton Wreck and other tourist “hot spots”.

Thank you Lerma for an amazing kayak experience like no other! Very friendly as all filipino, very patience, helpful and anything to cater your needs. And thanks to Greg who was very helpful and caring of him to talk even though he was on holidays himself with my needs.

Admiring the commitment you put into your blog and detailed information you present. It’s awesome to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same out of date rehashed information. Excellent read! I’ve saved your site and I’m adding your RSS feeds to my Google account.

Oh, I could be a lot better at updating and replying to you after your lovely comment. But I am still learning to navigate Word Press–and it’s what we do on the ground that appeals to me most. Thanks very much for your kind words.

As a Korean living in the Philippines, I have grown to love this country and consider it my second home. I love the warmth not just of the weather but of the people as well.
