Yes. We require a credit card to guarantee your reservation and give you instant confirmation online. Our 128 bit encryption-enhanced reservation service is powered by BPI (Bank of the Philippine Islands) SecurePay - to securely process your credit card.
- How much will my credit card be charged to make the online reservation?

- May I charge credit card over the phone?
Yes, you may but there are strict requirements. When the cardholder’s card is not present, the merchant may be allowed to accept the card details from the cardholder by mail or telephone. In this type of transaction, the merchant collects the card
details and supplies all of this information to MasterCard internet Gateway Service (MiGS) in the request.
- May I pay bank-to-bank?
Yes, you may pay bank-to-bank. Kindly e-mail info@tribaladventures.com for payment and account details.
- Do you require insurance?
We highly recommend travel insurance, including comprehensive medical insurance that includes medical evacuation.
- Do I need to sign a liability waiver?
Yes.
- What if I'm traveling on my own: How much will I be charged?
Where there is a 2 person minimum price and you are the only guest on a trip, you may opt to take the trip with yourself as the only paying guest by paying your cost PLUS 75% of the second person's cost.
- But what if the minimum number of clients is two and I am the second but do not wish to share a room or tent on a Tribal Adventures trip. How much will I be charged?
If your package incorporates airfare (eg Boracay Vacation, Paddlers Paradise, Coron Kayak Adventure 1) or sea fare (eg Coron Kayak Adventure 2), you will be charged 150% (that is your full cost plus 50%). If your package does not include airfare such as with Coron Kayak Adventure 3, you will be charged 175% (that is your full cost plus 75%). Kindly note that Adventure Hub Sagada and 4x4 trips where guests avail of Tribal Adventures offer to subsidise plane fare in lieu of land journey that the 75% single supplement applies.
- May I go on a trip by myself even if a trip is designated as having a minimum number of paid guests?
Yes, but IN PRINCIPLE you pay a single person supplement of 75%. (The supplement is 50% if the package involved includes unavoidable air or ship fare).
What about rafting?
Though rafting is a group activity, Tribal Adventures pledges to run all trips even with one paying guest. The supplement paid by a single paying rafter partially goes to support another paddler in the raft.
- What happens if advertised accommodation, for one reason or another, does not eventuate?
Inclement weather (or guest choice) may prevent camping and even accommodation of guests in Kayak Inn's native huts. A fire or other unforeseen event may also be the reason. Tribal Adventures pledges to provide alternate accommodation. There is no refund or set-off. A non-exhaustive list of approved inns, resorts and hotels follows:
- Boracay Whitewater: Unidos Beach Resort, Xavier Hotel
- Northern Palawan: Discovery Divers Resort, Princess of Coron, Darayonan Resort, SeaDive Resort, Safari Lodge, South Cay Bungalows, Coral Bay Resort
- Sagada: St Joseph's, Log Cabin, Mapia-aw, Rock Inn
- Manila: Durban Street Inn, Southern Cross Hotel, Tower Inn
- When do trips begin?
Unless otherwise advised and subject to guest preference, trips begin at 8 am from the designated starting point in an itinerary. A half day trip is usually 4 hours, with morning trips IN PRINCIPLE starting at 8 am and afternoon trips, when such are scheduled, starting at 1 pm.
- What is your accommodation check-in/check-out time?
Accommodation check-in time is 1 pm and check-out time is 11 am, unless otherwise advised. The operator shall not be liable for additional costs on account of guests overstaying beyond designated check-out times.
- What is your tipping policy?
Tipping of guides is not required and not encouraged. But the reality is that most guests do give generously to guides to express their appreciation for great experience.
- What kind of gifts may I give local people?
Cash is out, food and cigarettes problematic, but crayons for children are gratefully accepted anywhere. In some communities (Tibiao and Tagbanua communities in Coron, used clothing is welcome). Elsewhere, it might be regarded as degrading charity. Play it by Ear!
- If I have special interests, say I'm a doctor or a teacher, can you tailor a program to suit my needs?
Yes, and we do. Teachers on the Boracay Whitewater trip have spent very precious moments with school children in Nabas and Tibiao. Doctors often get engrossed in Culion, the former leper colony, when on Coron Kayak Expeditions: some return to treat the sick. Should you have a special interest kindly e-mail greg@tribaladventures.com so we may better tailor your trip.
- What should I pack?
Pack light. In Sagada, a pullover or jacket is needed against cool night air. But elsewhere, light, cool clothing is a must. A raincoat is recommended, a broad hat, sunglasses and lots of block out lotion and mosquito repellant. You should get your doctor's advice about malaria medication. Malaria is endemic in Palawan, though it's prevalence decreases going north. Tribal Adventures operates in the far northern islands of Palawan. Furthermore, malaria is more prevalent inland and Tribal Adventure trips are generally confined to the coastline. Advice: An inexpensive mosquito lotion called OFF is available locally; slap on a lot!
- What is your children policy?
Children below the age of 12 are half price. Infants below 2 are charged 10%.
- What is the maximum number of guests on trips?
Ten. But we go with merely 1 as per single supplement pricing.
- If I want numbers to be limited, what should I do?
E-mail us about your request and we will have a limit put on further bookings.
