CORON KAYAK ADVENTURE 1

Since 2000 Coron has been a favoured destination and this resort, kayaking and diving destination is easily twinned with Boracay due to weekly direct flights both ways-Caticlan-Busuanga and Busuanga-Coron (twice weekly flights from October 2007).

Billed by National Geographic in 2006 as one of the world's 50 top natural wonders, Coron is a superlative sea kayaking destination. Tribal Adventure Tours is the area expert, running kayaking expeditions for Mountain Travel Sobek and EcoFirst Adventures. We're offering this once-in-a-lifetime active vacation program for a fraction of the cost the American adventure companies bill their clients. Accommodation is in comfortable resorts or in deluxe exclusive private island camp sites. Transfers, all meals, kayaking and snorkeling activities, park and associated fees are included, as are alcoholic beverages in camp sites. (The price of airfare from and to Boracay is not included, but we can facilitate bookings and tickets on your and your client's behalf should you wish. Currently the fare is around 125 usd one-way per adult. As there are daily flights between Manila and Busuanga/Coron and vice versa the trip, with these fares at about half the Boracay-Busuanga-Boracay price, your clients need not start and end in Boracay).

TYPICAL ITINERARY

Thursday late morning Pick up and transfer from Busuanga Airport after 45 minute flight from Caticlan or 70 minute flight from Manila. Check into Coron resort or take banca to camp site. (Weather and guest preference influences the decision to camp or to stay in a resort). After lunch, guests are tutored in the basics of sea kayaking either single or double sit-in kayaks with rudders. Several hours is spent paddling the waters off Coron island, a limestone island that National Geographic counts as one of the world's 50 natural wonders. Back at camp or resort for sunset drinks and a scrumptious meal.
Friday morning After hearty breakfast a full day of exploration begins by kayak and accompanying support boat. Lunch on a quiet beach followed by further exploration of the brackish lakes and wonderous lagoons, caves and undercuts of Coron Island, the ancestral home of the seafaring Tagbanua tribe. After an exhilarating day of paddling and snorkeling, guests immerse themselves in the Maquinit Hot Springs, salty water hot springs conveniently located near Coron Island and the town of Coron. Celebratory dinner follows.
Saturday After breakfast and some souvenir shopping, guests take the 40 minute ride to the airport to meet their flight out of Busuanga Airport for Boracay or Manila. Currently departing Caticlan 11am every Thursday on Seair (www.flyseair.com), and returning Saturday, also in the morning.
